Attention to those who have BMW and use their wireless charging, and those who are also lucky enough to already have iPhone 15as reports published by Macrumors indicate that this mixture causes Apple Pay to become corrupted on the device.
Affected customers say the iPhone enters data recovery mode with a white screen and the NFC chip stops working after rebooting the device.
In the iPhone, the NFC chip powers features like Apple Pay and digital car keys. Affected users are receiving a “Failed to set up Apple Pay” error message in the Wallet app, and there doesn’t appear to be a way to resolve the issue. Some customers say that Apple replaced their iPhone after confirming that the NFC chip was faulty, but the replaced iPhone is vulnerable to the same problem, so there is currently no permanent solution.
