A new data report from Speedtest Intelligence suggests a new reason why the iPhone 15 is worth owning. Apple has taken its time to offer devices with 5G connectivity, starting with the iPhone 12, but these devices already stand out as the best in this technology in many countries.Including Spain.

In the analysis, Apple competes with Samsung. But in addition to hardware, The report takes into account factors such as 5G investments of governments and mobile operators, different 5G spectrum allocations and 5G mobile plans. Data for iPhone models is provided for the period between September 22 and October 20, 2023.

iPhone 15 has the best download speed performance in the United States. iPhone 15 had better download speed than iPhone 14, iPhone 15 Pro Max had 26% better download speed than iPhone 14 Pro Max, while iPhone 15 Pro Plus showed 12% better download speed. According to Speedtest Intelligence, Spain has seen significant increases in iPhone speed. Three iPhone 15 models in Spain showed significantly faster average 5G download speeds compared to their iPhone 14 equivalents.

iPhone 15 Pro had 40% better download speed than iPhone 14 Pro; iPhone 15 Pro Max had 36% better download speeds than iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 had 11% better download speeds than the iPhone 14. But there weren’t enough samples to accurately evaluate the iPhone Plus’ performance.

Meanwhile, all four iPhone 15 models in Canada showed significantly faster average 5G download speeds than their iPhone 14 counterparts.

In Australia and Germany, two out of four iPhone 15 models showed significantly higher average 5G download speeds compared to iPhone 14 models In the period between September 22 and October 20, 2023.

In Brazil, the same result was observed in three of the four iPhone 15 models.

In the Philippines and Vietnam the result was surprising. Neither the iPhone 15 Pro nor the iPhone 15 Pro Max had a statistically better average download speed on 5G than previous year models.

There were not enough samples in the Philippines to evaluate the performance of other models, and only the iPhone 15 Pro Max was evaluated in Vietnam.

In South Korea, where speeds are already fast, Speedtest Intelligence data showed no significant increase in average download speeds over 5G for the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max in South Korea. However, iPhone 15 Pro Max had 16% better charging speed than iPhone 14 Pro Max. But there weren’t enough samples to accurately evaluate the performance of the other two iPhone models.

Based on the evaluated sample, the latest list of countries that recorded speed improvements on the iPhone 15 compared to the previous model includes: United States, Spain, Germany, Canada, France, United Kingdom and India.
