One of the most anticipated launches of late 2023 is Realme. GT5 Prowhich promises, especially in the camera section, a huge leap compared to its competitors.
In a teaser posted on the Weibo social network, representatives of the Chinese brand highlighted the camera’s periscope telephoto lens and talked about “the most expensive telephoto lens configuration in the industry.”
The camera will use a 50-megapixel Sony IMX80 sensor and 3x optical zoom with f/2.6 aperture. Interestingly, periscope telephoto lenses with 3x zoom are rare, but the large sensor forced the folded optics to fit within a reasonable thickness.
According to Realme, the setup promises several hardware and software optimizations that enable 6x lossless scaling. In addition, the camera supports 120x super zoom.
Thanks to the new computing platform and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that performs mathematical calculations, Realme achieved a 10% increase in power consumption and up to 44% faster frame processing.
