The RuStore app store has reduced the commission for Russian developers for in-app purchases, subscriptions or paid apps. Until the end of 2023, a commission of 0.9 to 3.35% will be applied for a turnover of up to 1 million rubles of each product, VK said.
The amount of the fee will depend on the user’s payment method. At the same time, it is observed that most users pay with bank cards; the commission for such payments will be 2.5%. Thus, the commission will be reduced by 6 times, before it was 15%.
The reduced commission will be available to those developers who have connected the RuStore Payment SDK to accept payments for in-app purchases, subscriptions, or paid apps. The conditions apply to the income from each product up to 1 million rubles from the start of the program.
If by the end of 2023 the amount of payments exceeds 1 million rubles, the commission for additional payments will return to 15%, and for products in the Media category it will be 10%.
RuStore launched in-app monetization in August 2022. In February 2023, the store left the beta version and opened access to foreign developers.
RuStore is being developed by VK with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development.
