Google announced 11 new features for the Android ecosystem. Resources should be distributed gradually across the company’s applications and platforms.
There is an increase in many segments New emoji combinations for Gboard, more expressive power for messages in Google Messages, and shortcuts for Google Home on Wear OS.
1. New sticker combinations
Emoji Kitchen has gained even more sticker combinations on Android. Gboard’s emoji mixer now gives people even more room to express themselves better across messaging apps and social networks.
2. Sounds with emojis
Voice messages can now be accompanied by emojis in Google Messages. This function allows you to add more dynamism to the content, as well as making the conversation more entertaining.
3. New effects for reactions
Google Messages reactions also increased. Now all reactions sent by the messenger will always be accompanied by an animation.
4. New free channels on Google TV
10 new channels have been added to the Google TV catalogue. The new feature allows you to explore more programming options, but without having to spend anything to do so.
5. Lighting Control in Wear OS
Wear OS smartwatches can now control your home’s lighting via Google Home. The integration allows you to adjust lighting intensity, colors and entire light groups.
6. Asset detection
Smartwatches currently on Wear OS can now be used to record your presence in the environment. The tool allows you to signal what environment you are in and have the house react accordingly.
7. Launching routines from Wear OS
Another new feature of the system for smart watches is the ability to start routines from the watch. You can now send signals to Google Assistant when a series of events need to occur.
8. More secure authentication
Android now lets you set a PIN or FIDO2 security key for websites or apps that require user authentication.
9. New shortcut for Google Assistant
A new shortcut has been added for At a Glance, a Google Assistant feature. The plugin displays important information like weather forecast and event reminders.
10. Description of images with AI
TalkBack on Android now uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify the content of an image and read it aloud. The accessibility feature helps low vision users understand media on social networks or messengers.
11. Live Captions in more languages
Google Live Subtitle supports more languages. The tool allows you to check the content of transcribed voices and calls.
Phased distribution
Google It is not clear when each of the new features mentioned will be available for general use., but some depend on updates to specific apps (e.g. Gboard and Google Home). So stay tuned for updates released for them on Play Store.
