starlink presented a new portable receiver, to connect to the Internet via satellite, even when you are not at home. Elon Musk explained that the new receiver is designed for different purposes, for example for those who are moving camper and for those who, more generally, enjoy camping or staying for many days in rural areas and far from cities.

To access the service, even if they are far from home, Starlink subscribers have to pay extra monthly.

The new receiver has compact dimensions and low weight. In other words, it’s extremely portable, but to connect to the Internet, it needs to be stationary. It does not work when the user is on the road and therefore cannot be used while traveling by car.

Starlink has also been working for some time to bring its services to large vehicles, such as trucks, boats and trains. The company is already in talks with some airlines, including Delta Airline, to bring its satellite link to aircraft.

Customers who subscribe to Starlink can enable the portability feature of their connection by paying an extra $25 more per month, which must be added to the main rent. Starlink recently increased the price of all its subscriptions.
