When Apple introduced iOS 17 during WWDC 2023, one of the main new features was Diary. The bad news is that it did not accompany the launch of the operating system last September. The company took more time to fine-tune it, and after months of waiting, it is finally available along with the rest of the components. What’s new in iOS 17.2of which there are many.
iOS 17.2 remained in beta for several weeks. Thanks to those who got their hands on the test software, we learned about some of its capabilities. Fortunately, the most important ones managed to reach the final version.
First of all, we have the Diary app. As the name suggests, this is a proposal that allows us to write about the important moments of the day. You can also add images, audio messages, locations, and even activity data from your Apple Watch. The idea, of course, is that you write down these events so you can remember them later.

To make its use more efficient, Diario relies on artificial intelligence to suggest Recommendations on what to write about. “Intelligently curated, personalized suggestions are designed to help users remember and write about the moment, such as new places they visited, photos they took, songs they listened to, workouts they completed, and more,” Apple adds.
Also, they mention that they released API (application programming interface) to Developers integrate Diary suggestions into their applications.. So, for example, Instagram might have a button to insert a specific post into your Diary.

Of course Diario can send you periodic notifications so don’t forget to write down your memory. Luckily, you can set your own alert frequency. Finally, since the information contained in this application is private, It can be locked using Touch ID or Face ID.. They will be encrypted when stored in iCloud.
Other iOS 17.2 features besides Diary…
Diary isn’t the only new feature in iOS 17.2, although it’s the most important. Below we have collected the most significant of them:

- AirDrop is also improving. Now you can share transport, cinema and other tickets.
- Apple Music is getting a long-awaited playlist of favorite songs. Every time you add it to your favorites, it is automatically added to this list.
- New digital clock widget.
- Autocomplete identifies fields in PDF documents and suggests spelling suggestions.
- iPhone 13 and 14 already support QI2 chargers.
- Fixed an issue with wireless charging in vehicles.
