In July 2023, Rosinter Restaurants registered the domains cafeteria lalibela and cafeteria lalibela. After the Costa Coffee brand left Russia, the restaurant holding company chose Russian coffee producer Lalibela Coffee as a supplier of exclusive blends for the company’s cafeterias and restaurants.
Now Rosinter plans to develop a chain of coffee shops in partnership with Lalibela Coffee and is preparing for a rebrand, the details of which have yet to be revealed, writes Kommersant.
Cooperation with the beverage manufacturer will allow the restaurant holding company to reduce the cost of purchasing raw materials, according to experts.
- Coca-Cola acquired the brand of the largest British coffee chain, Costa Coffee, from the Whitbread Plc group of companies for $5.1 billion in 2018. The company received approximately 4,000 Costa Coffee stores and coffee roasting and distribution businesses.
- In Russia, Costa Coffee opened its doors in 2008 under the management of Rosinter under a franchise agreement. After Coca-Cola left the Russian market in 2022, Rosinter changed the name of its coffee shops to Coffee.
