Huawei Pura 70 Ultra vs Xiaomi 14 Ultra: screen and design
As for the screen, each manufacturer has included excellent quality panels in each device with slight differences between one and the other, and although in the case of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra the difference in brightness may seem much larger, we think that in terms of real-world use these 500 extra nits are not a decisive difference. However, we liked the color calibration on Xiaomi better, as we noticed more neutral colors, while on Huawei it was slightly warmer.
In terms of design, although we usually insist that this is a completely subjective aspect, we feel that the camera module of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra detracts a bit from the appeal of the Xiaomi mobile, while the camera distribution of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra seems much more stylized to us.
Huawei Pura 70 Ultra vs Xiaomi 14 Ultra: who has the better camera?

As for the cameras, let’s start with the main sensor of each smartphone, which in both cases has a resolution of 50 megapixels with variable aperture. When it comes to daytime photos, we think the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra produces better results, delivering more detail in dark areas and capturing high levels of detail. Indoors, we like the white balance achieved by Xiaomi, although in terms of detail we prefer what was achieved by Huawei.
At night, we also prefer the Huawei’s results, which provide slightly more detail and better light capture.
Regarding the wide viewing angle of each phone, we selected the Xiaomi results that provide better image contrast. At night both are absolutely perfect.
In terms of telephoto lenses, two in the case of the 14 Ultra, Xiaomi is clearly superior, because when zoomed in it is noticeable that it achieves a higher level of detail.
When it comes to video recording, both record in 4K at 60fps, and we prefer the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which we think is sharper and more stabilized.
Finally, when it comes to selfies, we think both phones deliver excellent and very similar results.
Huawei Pura 70 Ultra vs Xiaomi 14 Ultra: performance and autonomy
It’s no secret that no matter how attractive the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is, its Kirin 9010 chipset in terms of performance is far behind what Xiaomi can offer by integrating the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 into its Xiaomi 14 Ultra. And while you won’t have any bad experiences with Huawei, you’ll definitely get more with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, especially if gaming or high-resolution content creation is part of your daily life.
In terms of battery, we noticed better management in the Huawei device, but both devices handle battery life quite well and the charging characteristics of both devices are quite similar.
Huawei Pura 70 Ultra vs Xiaomi 14 Ultra: which is better?
In general terms and in terms of photographic experience, we think the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is the best mobile phone. However, if your purchasing decision will be based solely on which telephoto lens is better, be sure to choose the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
Overall, however, we think the Xiaomi 14 Ultra offers a better balance: it’s a more powerful cell phone, it offers extraordinary photography capabilities, and it also gives you seamless access to Google apps.
Finally, a crucial factor to consider is the availability of each equipment. In some countries, the only option to purchase the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is to import it, which usually increases prices.
