Nvidia has been preparing for the launch of RTX 50 for a while, and according to Kopite7kimi, GeForce RTX 5090 should have very powerful features. An insider revealed on his X profile (Formerly Twitter) that the GPU should have 32 GB GDDR7 VRAM memory and its launch will take place at CES 2025.

In terms of specifications, the expected RTX 5090 can reach the market with the GB202-200-A1 chip with 170 Stream Multiprocessors and up to 21,760 CUDA cores, although the fully enabled silicon has 24,576 cores. If confirmed, Nvidia’s new graphics card could beat the current RTX 4090 by up to 32%.

But the biggest difference must be in the memories. According to the leak, the RTX 5090 would have 32 GB VRAM in the GDDR7 protocol through a 512-bit interface. This makes the chip’s total bandwidth between 1,800 and 2,000 TB/s. Additionally, GPU consumption should be around 600 W.

RTX 5080 with 400W

The information source also stated the technical specifications of the RTX 5080. Still in the high-end segment, the model will use the GB203 chip in maximum configurations with 84 stream multiprocessors and 10,752 CUDA cores, representing only 10% more units than RTX. 4080 original.

The memory part does not change much in this model because it will continue with 16 GB VRAM, but it is now of the GDDR7 type. To achieve this, the chip needs to operate with a maximum bandwidth of approximately 1,000 TB/s. In terms of consumption, the RTX 5080 should have 400W TGP (Total Graphics Power), similar to what we see on the RTX 4090.

According to another rumor on the Benchlife website, Nvidia will introduce the GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080, this time at the 2025 CES fair to be held in early January. If results are obtained, we can expect the models to go on sale between the end of January and mid-February.
