A very special collaboration made Samsung with a group of designers from the Netherlands such as Cheil Benelux, Elitac Wearables, Bruut Amsterdam and sneaker designer Roel van Hoff to launch the sneaker: The Shortcut Sneaker.
Sneaker designer Roel van Hoff created a unique design inspired by the galaxy and the universe. The shoes use materials reminiscent of meteorites and supernovas, with their own texture and color. Every detail of the shoe references Samsung Galaxy products.
The sole of the shoe contains motion sensors that constantly monitor position in relation to others. Five unique movements in the shoe activate five shortcuts. By having as many people perform the dances hundreds of times as possible, the algorithm has become smarter and movement recognition more accurate.

Roel van Hoff’s design already makes this shoe special, but combined with this technology we have managed to create something that we hope will please the loyal Samsung community. Something unique: the world’s first sneaker that lets you call your friends.
The idea is simple: make a certain movement with your sneakers and your Samsung phone will react. The different movements correspond to actions on your phone. For example, you can make calls or play music while moonwalking. Samsung has designed these limited-edition sneakers especially for its Members fans: the world’s first gadget of which there are only six pairs available.
