SberDevices has released a new generation of popular SberBox TV set-top boxes. Now she proudly received two in several figures, and it’s not just like that.
I have already dealt with individual materials about the first version of consoles. Then the impressions were rather mixed. After that, the device extender feature allowed me to install any Android applications and things got better.
Now the company has listened to user feedback and has greatly upgraded the device. I’ll tell you what new things have been done now and why it’s good.

The design has changed a lot
Even the packaging looked more solid
The first generation looked like a typical set-top box, the millionth on the market. The new product immediately showed its turbine-like appearance.
Now it is a round device, slightly diverging to the sides. In this translucent case it looks very impressive and unusual. The dimensions were reduced from 147x53x16 mm in the original SberBox to 72x18x70 mm. The gadget has become even lighter and more compact.
The important differences of the new generation are which hdmi cable. Previously, it was built into a TV set-top box, but now the treasure becomes separate. So in the event of an accidental breakdown, it can now be easily replaced without having to resort to purchasing another SberBox 2. Special respect for this, we asked for this from the very beginning.

In addition, a LAN connector has been added to the set-top box. It will come in handy in case your Wi-Fi Internet connection is wireless.

SberDevices has also majorly updated its remote control. Its design has been redesigned by the director.
It is still made of high-quality plastic with a matte finish. Almost no blurring, which is very good. Fans of packages – you can safely remove it, nothing bad will happen to the case.
The shape of the remote control has become more streamlined and flat, due to which it no longer cuts into the palm and lies comfortably in the hand. Plus, the remote itself is amazing. easyEven with the batteries, its weight barely keeps it cool.
More partner buttons have appeared in the body. So, now you will find Okko, Ivy, Let’s Watch, Premier, Rutube and TV on it. The latter is responsible for quickly switching to the list of television channels. Wink is no longer here – I don’t use it, but for fans this may be a small drawback.
In the remote control for SberBox 2 The lighting adjustment rocker was moved to the side. At first, this decision seemed strange, but after some time I got used to it and now I don’t understand why others don’t do the same. This is quite convenient, plus the button is closer to the hand.
The menu control area has increased slightly in size and has become square rather than round.
The remaining balances remained unchanged. There are buttons for power, mute, “Back”, “Home” and for calling “Salute” assistants.
Click and it opens
What I especially liked was the redesigned compartment for two AAA batteries. No need to open the lid anymore, just enough click the bottom of the panel. The battery pack will come out from there. Of course, they shouldn’t have done that – now I click this block all the time, it’s a stupid habit.
An important update to the remote control was the appearance dynamics. This device can be quickly found if it gets lost or you forget where you turned it on. To do this, just double-click the indicator on the side of SberBox 2, and the remote control will start beeping loudly. So it can be successfully found.

What about the hardware?
The hardware in SberBox 2 has not changed. The Amlogic S905Y4 chipset with a quad-core Cortex A35 on board, as well as 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, is still responsible for performance.
There is support for video in 4K UltraHD format, HDR10, HDMI 2.1 is used for higher data transfer rates, as well as Wi-Fi 2.4/5 GHz 802.11a/b/g/n/ac.
The Salyut TV operating system itself has also remained almost unchanged. Current updates in it:

Good update that was asked for
It’s nice to know that SberDevices listened to its users and did a good job updating its popular TV set-top box.
The device has become more compact and more convenient for all fronts. And I want to read separately at the remote control – a top upgrade.
