Marketing expert and speaker Jared Brick was sure he would never see his Apple Watch again after losing it in the water during a Caribbean cruise. But a year and a half later, he not only recovered the device, but also continued to use it normally.
Brick told the story in a YouTube video. According to him, it all started when he went on vacation to the British Virgin Islands archipelago in June 2022. An Apple Watch was purchased so he could communicate with his son without needing a mobile phone.
After scuba diving and using his smartwatch to record his performance, Brick went to a local beach with his friends and jumped off rocks. Some of the fun was captured in videos and photos.
According to him, at a certain point Apple Watch probably separated from your wrist and fell into the water.

Back on the boat, the boy used the Find My app (called Search in Portuguese) and found the exact location of the device. It was still on the beach, underwater but not deep, and technically still powered by the device.
Apple Watch Ultra and later models are water resistant 100 meters depthConventional models from the 2nd generation onwards still work up to 50 meters.
Brick then left a message on the device promising a cash reward and went about his life as normal. But in December of last year, he received a message from a local man named Jonathan. I found the watch and contacted them to return it..
Video ends when the user charges the Apple WatchThe vehicle, which traveled 5,700 kilometers to return to its owner and is still working normally,
“That’s a bit surprising, isn’t it? A big thank you to Jonathan in the Caribbean for finding the watch, contacting me and sending it to me, being a good person and a good human being. And a big thank you to Apple for creating such a great, badass watch. Solid watch. Incredible technology,” Brick concludes.
