Although TCL is a household name in the TV segment, the company also has a line of mid-range mobile phones and tablets. Unlike what we see from Xiaomi or Samsung, TCL isn’t banking on a powerful camera or AI features.but a technology that wants to bring the best of Kindle to your mobile phone screen. NXTPAPER offers a certified low blue light panel and a matte effect that is attractive to the eye.
The company notes that the goal of NXTPAPER is revolutionize the reading and viewing experienceensuring convenience across all digital formats. The latest version of this technology debuts in the TCL 50 and 50 PRO smartphones, which feature 6.8-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate.The panel automatically adjusts to ambient lighting conditions, reducing blue light and reflections.


Among its features is a function that adapts the screen color depending on the ambient light and night modeDuring the day, brightness can reach 550 nits, and in Night Light mode, the phone reduces the intensity until it reaches a relaxing level. Both phones are TÜV, SGS, and Eyesafe certified and come with an assistant that gives advice on eye care.
TCL includes Kindle mode for reading on your mobile device.
A striking feature of the TCL 50 mobile phones is Max Ink mode turns the screen into an e-reader.c. When you press the NXTPAPER key, the mobile phone becomes a kind of Kindle with an e-ink screen. Panel Adopts the texture of paper and minimizes distractions by turning off notifications.


TCL mentions that Max Ink can serve as alternative to disconnecting users day after day and immerse yourself in a book. The TCL 50 supports various e-book formats and can connect to online stores to download and read them directly on your mobile phone. This mode also increases battery life, reaching Up to 7 days of battery life when reading or 26 days in sleep mode.
In terms of technical specifications, the TCL 50 Pro has Main camera 108 MP and a 32 MP front camera. The internal memory is 512 GB, which is enough to store your entire book collection. In the case of the tablet TCL NXTPAPER 14 has a 14.3-inch screen. with 2.4K resolution and features identical to mobile phones.
How much will the TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G phones cost?

As we mentioned at the beginning, TCL’s bet goes beyond the traditional mobile experience. TCL 50 NXTPAPER and tablet are aimed at the segment of users who are looking for an alternative to conventional screens. The idea of becoming a reader e-books and offering an experience similar to what we see on Kindle is exciting.
The manufacturer focused the announcement on these features, rather than the processor or the main camera sensor. For reference, the TCL 40 and 40 5G came with MediaTek Helio G88 and Dimensity 6020 processors.
