Xiaomi, like many other companies, stops offering support for some of its phoneseither due to age or because they do not have enough features to continue receiving news about the software. The Asian firm actually has a list called EOS (End of Support, abbreviation in English), which are sometimes updated with those devices that, unfortunately, will no longer be a priority for the brand. And in the latest version of the list, two new models have been added.
These are, in fact, available in different marketssuch as Europe, Latin America and Asia, especially in countries such as China or India. This means that both models have a global version, which unfortunately will most likely be added to the EOS list.
That Xiaomi is ending support for these devices, This means that both smartphones will stop updating.. Not only will they not receive software updates with new features such as HyperOS 2.0 or similar, but they will also not be able to receive security patches. That is, owning one of these phones today could pose a serious privacy and security risk, especially since they are susceptible to vulnerabilities that Xiaomi won’t patch.
We no longer support software or firmware updates (including security updates) for EOL listed products. And we may no longer respond to reports of security vulnerabilities in such devices.
Xiaomi phones that will stop receiving updates
Which Xiaomi models will stop receiving updates? According to the EOS list, which the company recently updated, the models will no longer receive support Small X3 And Xiaomi Qivi. This latest mobile phone arrived on the European market under the name Xiaomi 12 Lite, so it is likely that this device will also be added to the list soon and will no longer receive support and therefore software updates, including HyperOS updates.
If you have one of these mobile phones, it’s best change the model to a newer one continue to receive updates. Typically, Android phones support software updates for 4 years and security updates for up to 7 years. Xiaomi assures on its website that all its phones have updates for at least two years.
