Gemini live It was introduced during Google I/O 2024 as a new AI-powered conversational assistant from the Mountain View firm. The tool was launched as an exclusive feature for Gemini Advanced subscribers and in English only. But starting today it is expanding and supporting more languages, including Spanish.
Starting today, Gemini Live lets you interact in Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Hindi on Android phones. In any case, the rollout of expanded language support will be completed gradually, so all users will receive it only in the coming weeks.
According to Google, the goal is to enable Gemini Live to understand and communicate in more than 40 languages. Those who want to chat with an AI-powered voice assistant that offers features similar to ChatGPT’s advanced voice mode can choose between 10 different customizable voices.
What can you do with Gemini Live? Google’s conversation tool can be used to ask questions about everything from historical events to board game rules, plan events, or even ask for advice. Keep in mind that the assistant works both with the Gemini app in the background and when the phone is with the screen locked.

Another new feature coming to Gemini Live with the arrival of Spanish and other languages is that it will allow communicate with AI in two languages on one device. Google promises that the ability to set more preferred languages will be added later.
Changing your preferred languages for use in Gemini Live is very easy. Users must log into the Google app, tap on their profile photo and go to Settings > Google Assistant > Languages.. Once there, they can adjust the settings according to the available options.
If you want to change the type of voice that Gemini Live uses to respond to you, you need to access the Gemini app from your Android mobile phone and enter the settings from your profile photo. There click on Voice of Gemini and move between the available alternatives before choosing the one you like best.
Californians have been pushing to replace the historic Google Assistant with Gemini for some time now. If you have an Android smartphone, you’ve probably already seen suggestions to download the Gemini app and set it as your default virtual assistant. For example, in the new Pixel 9 it is already a default option.
If you have Gemini installed on your mobile phone, you can launch Gemini Live using a voice command. “Hey Google”or click on the button live which appears at the bottom of the interface.
