Notable additions include improved features theft protection which are designed to make it difficult for thieves to access your data. It was a little difficult to find these settings at first. However, as Android Authority first noted, that’s about to change.

Thanks to the released update, the anti-theft menu can now be accessed by going to Settings > Security & privacy > Unlock your device. It still requires a few taps to access, but it’s in a more convenient location in the Settings app that’s easier and quicker to find.

New Android anti-theft tools have three main components: theft detection lock, offline device lock, and remote lock.

  • Theft detection lock: When activated, this feature automatically detects if someone has stolen your phone and locks it to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Lock your device offline– This feature locks your phone if it is offline for a long period of time, keeping it safe even without an Internet connection.
  • Remote blocking: If you can’t access Find My Device, visit android.com/lock and use your phone number to lock your device remotely. This tool will come in handy in case of theft or loss.

These features work together to protect your phone and personal information.

Android 15 was recently released for the first time on supported Pixel devices, including the Google Pixel 9. Other Android devices, including supported phones from Samsung, Motorola, and many more, will eventually receive the new update.

Android update improves privacy and security with “Personal space» for confidential applications and better password management. It also improves the user experience on larger screens with updated layouts and multitasking tools. Camera features have improved low-light performance and use third-party controls. Messaging updates include satellite connectivity for carrier apps and password support. The update also brings performance improvements and developer tools to make the apps more usable.
