While we’re still months away from finding out, we’ve already talked at length about the next iPhone SE 4. Apple Economic Rate will last until mid-2025and today we can know that it will arrive with the most awaited feature. If you’re waiting for this launch, there’s now one more thing to add to the list of benefits. But as we indicated in the title, this new product is accompanied by a figure that, yes or yes, will seem insufficient to you.

The big surprise of the iPhone SE 4, as it could not be otherwise, is the expected OLED panel. According to Hankuki DailyApple is counting on Samsung to be one of the screen suppliers for this device. It won’t be the only one because they add to the equation BOE and LG Displaytwo very famous manufacturers in the market.

It’s unclear how much of the iPhone SE 4 will feature Samsung’s OLED display, but a cited source indicates that Most of the panels will be ordered from BOE Display. It’s not often that Apple requires three different suppliers for the same model, which leads us to think the Californian is predicting good numbers for the next “cheap iPhone.”

iPhone SE 4 is the first with an OLED screen

The good news is not that Samsung is part of the supply equation (that too), but that iPhone SE 4 will have an OLED screen for the first time and not LCD. This was one of the most common complaints from users and fans of the company, due to which Apple was unable to continue supporting the previous technology in mid-2025.

OLED panels have much better contrast, more vibrant color presentation and a much deeper black color. They’re not necessarily better, but in the same price range the technology usually ranks above LCDs.

And, if we look at the manufacturers who are going to supply it, there is not much difference in quality, although Apple itself leaves us clues about which one it prefers for each thing. For example, LG Display is responsible for providing screens for the most advanced models, while BOE is usually chosen for basic versions of the iPhone.

Consequently, BOE will be the preferred supplier for the iPhone SE 4. Samsung is somewhere in the middle, offering very similar quality to LG, but with higher prices in the wholesale industry. Apple has been reducing orders from the South Korean company over timebut in 2025, it seems he wants to renew their relationship and bet on one of the most interesting devices of the year.

In India, the most affordable iPhone 14 is priced at the equivalent of $975.

OLED yes, but at 60 Hz

This is speculation at this point, but all indications are that Apple will again build a 60Hz screen into the iPhone SE 4. This was done in the current iPhone 16, so there’s no reason to think that things will be different in a cheaper – not cheap – mobile phone.

The one from Cupertino will sell a mobile phone again 500, 600 or 700 euros without 120 Hz screen, a decision that buyers themselves will have to judge, but which represents a significant disadvantage in mid-2024 or 2025. In the Android ecosystem there are 200 euro mobile phones with this refresh rate, while Apple reserves this feature only for users willing to pay a whopping 1219 euros onwards.
