Since the first rumors appeared about which chip will power Samsung Galaxy S25two main competitors came out ahead: Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite. We’ve seen speculation go both ways, but from what we know, the phone will feature a different chip depending on your region.
According to a recent Geekbench study, European markets are likely to receive the Exynos chip. It is not yet known which markets will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The latest Geekbench results show the European variant of the Galaxy S25 Plus with Exynos 2500 scoring 2359 single-core and 8141 multi-core.

The fact that we have Exynos’ Geekbench score is proof enough that it will be coming to at least some markets. The Geekbench score also reveals the phone’s configuration: a 10-core processor with a base frequency of 1.8 GHz and a maximum core frequency of 3.3 GHz. Its GPU, at least in this particular configuration, is the AMD-based Xclipse 950.
By comparison, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus feature Qualcomm chips in North America, but all other markets use Exynos chips. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra features a Qualcomm chip no matter where you buy it. Given the new evidence of a Galaxy S25 Plus with Exynos, it’s possible that Samsung will take a similar approach again in 2025.
This constant change of information demonstrates the unreliability of leaks. While many leaks turn out to be accurate, none of them can be guaranteed until the company makes an official statement. There are many theories as to why Samsung might choose Exynos over the Snapdragon chip, most of which involve supply issues.
Based on the information available, the first couple of phones launched in January could come with an Exynos processor, while later models like the S25 Ultra and the rumored S25 Slim could come with a Snapdragon chip. This is all speculation, but we’ll know more as the release date approaches.
