He Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra This will be my main smartphone for at least the next few weeks and I will be doing so with the OnePlus 13. When I first inserted the SIM card into OnePlus 13 That was three months ago, and since then no one has been able to take it from my hands. That’s a surprisingly long lifespan for an Android phone to me, and it says a lot about how good this phone is.

I’ll be using the Galaxy S25 Ultra for the next few weeks, but I’ll miss the OnePlus 13. Here’s why.
Why so long?
Twelve weeks of use may not seem like much to you, but it’s probably the longest continuous period of time I’ve used a single Android phone in quite some time. My job is to change Android phones very regularly, but some things worked out that I didn’t I had to shift during the holiday period. Often, when similar situations have arisen in the past, I have inserted my SIM card into another phone just to get back to it or because I really liked it.
This time it didn’t even occur to me. I even remember, while planning future articles, saying that I wasn’t done with the OnePlus 13 yet, even though my review and other materials were completed. For me, want Continuing to use the OnePlus 13 even though there were other phones waiting for me that I really liked meant that I wasn’t doing anything wrong at all, and, perhaps best of all, I wasn’t doing anything that bothered me.
I had a love/hate affair with OxygenOS as a lot of what I didn’t like about Oppo’s ColorOS began to show in the design and interface. These aspects – such as seemingly endless system notifications, poor notification support and overly complex menus – would have me looking Google Pixel 9 Pro Foldable (my other favorite Android phone of last year) in days gone by, but with OxygenOS 15, OnePlus has taken back control and the software is even better for it. I’m not going to just put up with it. I like.
Fantastic equipment
I’ve had the OnePlus 13 in my official Sandstone case since it arrived. Aside from the weird requirement to put a piece of plastic inside to ensure maximum wireless charging speeds, this is a very nice addition to the phone. The grippy texture isn’t too grippy, so it slides in and out of my pocket without difficulty and doesn’t add bulk to the phone.
However, when I take the case off, I feel stupid for using it all the time. The soft, tactile texture of the microfiber vegan leather back panel of my Midnight Ocean model is much more luxurious than the rough, sandpaper-like body. The design of the phone is good and represents a significant improvement over the previous generation. OnePlus 12. Small changes such as moving the Hasselblad “H” logo to the side of the camera module and adding a polished line underneath make it attractive and distinctive.

Battery life continued to impress, and with two to three hours of use each day, it lasted until the third day before I actually needed to charge it. He Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite The phone didn’t get too hot and I also enjoyed using the camera. Hasselblad’s work behind the scenes must be paying off, as the tones and colors in the photos are really attractive and give the OnePlus 13’s camera its own personality. I’ve even grown to love the XPan camera mode, which has improved so much that I no longer consider it a gimmick.
It’s a hard act to follow
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has to live up to what I consider to be one of the best Android smartphones you can buy. So that it convinces me and makes me want to use it. at least For 12 weeks straight, it should be easy to carry, look good, have long battery life, reliable software, and a camera that I enjoy using.
The OnePlus 13 does all of this with ease, and I can’t ignore the fact that the 12GB/256GB version costs $400 less than the cheapest Galaxy S25 Ultra model, which essentially has the same basic specs. Even if you have $1,299 to spend on a new smartphone, saving that amount of money is the difference between buying a new phone. And smart watch or smart ring, or just buy a new phone yourself.
Samsung’s latest phones aren’t the only competitor to the OnePlus 13. Google Pixel 9 Pro That’s also a big problem, but it brings me to another strong point of the OnePlus 13. It has AI features, but they’re not touted as monumentally transformative or a reason to buy. I like this because I don’t feel like I’m paying for features I don’t use since few of them have been regularly useful so far.
This may also be the reason why I’ve been enjoying using the OnePlus 13 for the last 84 days or so – it’s a smartphone and it does what it’s supposed to do superbly. do business with a smartphone. I don’t really need much more than that, and if you’ve been thinking about buying the OnePlus 13, trust me, as someone who’s usually happy to switch to a different phone every two weeks, you won’t regret the purchase.
