For me, these are the big new features of the new iPad Pro beyond the M5 chip.

Next-generation iPad Pro features C1X chip, N1 chip and more

Apple introduced the new iPad Pro in mid-October

Although this may be true on a design level, No major design changes were made in the new generation iPad Pro It is also true that some notable improvements have been implemented at the hardware level in the Apple tablet. We recently did a comparison between the M4 chip and the M5 chip, but there are other hardware components and other new features that personally amazed me.

Now, it needs to be emphasized that the differences between the iPad Pro with the M4 chip and the iPad Pro with the M5 chip are not as egregious as once expected, or at least not as egregious as I initially imagined they would be. Are these changes worth it? What really changes? Which iPad is best for you? I’ll tell you what I like best and we’ll decide from there.

These are the things they like most about the iPad Pro M5

I don’t know about you but I I was a bit disappointed by the lack of innovation in terms of design for the new generation iPad Pro. It’s possible we’ll see more significant changes next year, but I was expecting more after the launch of the iPhone Air with its revolutionary ultra-thin design and the arrival of the new iPhone 17 Pro models with a redesigned camera module. A little more emotion, a little more spark, changes that really motivate the consumer to own something new, something whose vision makes you look a little beyond the stars.

It is a fact that changes in hardware are now exciting and enjoyable. Here’s what I like most about the eighth-generation iPad Pro:

  • 12GB RAM: Apple increased the RAM capacity of its tablets for models with 256 GB or 512 GB storage. The more advanced 1TB and 2TB versions still have 16GB of RAM.
  • Chip N1: For me, the N1 chip is this year’s big new star; Dedicated to increasing the speed of Wi-Fi connection and also Bluetooth. In this way, we will have Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support.
  • C1X Chip: The C1X chip, or “modem,” boosts mobile data speeds by up to 50%. Obviously it’s only available in the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
  • 120Hz refresh rate: The iPad’s OLED screen has long offered a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, but new models now support 120Hz refresh rate on external displays and monitors.
  • SSD read speed: Finally, another thing I like most about the new 2025 iPad Pro models with M5 chip is that SSD reading speeds have increased significantly. They are now up to two times faster at SSD reading and writing than the previous generation.

Another of the coolest new features that caught my attention quite a bit is that the new iPad Pros now have a minimum brightness of 1 nits. This will be a pleasure for sleeping, this innovation has never been mentioned in the specifications of an iPad Pro.
