Apple updated the list of devices and electronics under consideration last week nostalgic (also called “classics”) or not used by the manufacturer. New to the list of vintage models ipod nano this iPod Shuffle 2015, in addition to the iPhone? 6.

The mobile phone was presented in September 2014 along with the iPhone 6 Plus, which has been considered obsolete since the beginning of 2022. The iPhone 6 wasn’t a fundamental change in functionality for the company, but it didn’t stop bringing news either.

The device was the first to be sold in two versions, one of which was a large size, as well as a larger screen (4″ than the 4″ iPhone 5s). The device has also become thinner and has a more rounded appearance, with horizontal lines on the back separating the device’s antennas.

The rear camera featured a small protrusion for the first time in Apple’s case. At its release, the device did not escape criticism: There were many complaints that the device simply folded inside the pocket – an argument known as the “bendgate”.

What does it mean to be vintage for Apple?

According to Apple, an “obsolete” product is one that has been out of stock for more than five years and less than seven years. Integrating this list still means it must be accepted by expert technical assistance, but its repair is not guaranteed as it is dependent on the availability of increasingly scarce parts.

Hardware service for “old” models, which have exceeded seven years without sales, has also been completely discontinued. In the new update, iPod nano 7th generation (2012), iPod touch 5th generation and iPod Shuffle 2012 are now considered obsolete.

A full list of classic and vintage models can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
