pixel tablet officially debuted at Google I/O last May, and Mountain View just showed off a little more. The device arrives next year and aims to take a place in a market where the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi have so far dominated Android tablets. However, it is also notable its great integration with home.
Will be equipped with Tensor G2 chip same as the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro and can be used as a command center to control smart home. Those from Mountain View showed how it can be paired with a new docking station with a built-in speaker. This basically means that the Pixel Tablet can be turned into a kind of Nest Hub.
Google wants the Pixel Tablet to not be a device that sits in a drawer when not in use. So they decided to make it more integrated with the house. It may not be the most advanced device in the industry, but it offers a different approach to what has already been seen in equipment from other brands. In case they described it as the most “versatile and adaptable” one can find.
When connected to the docking station, to which it attaches with magnets, the Pixel tablet becomes a digital photo frame and a shortcut to Google Assistant. It also promises to deliver more than decent sound quality through the dock’s built-in speaker if you want to listen to music while it’s plugged in. While turning it off, it reverts back to its normal tablet functions, where by the looks of it, its strength will be in the consumption of multimedia content.
So don’t expect the device to hit the market geared towards professional users. this is home tabletin the most literal sense of that definition.
Pixel tablet wants to be your next center for smart home
An interesting aspect of the Pixel Tablet is that the docking station also works as a charger. So if you want to undock it to watch YouTube videos or series and movies on a streaming service, the battery will never be an issue.
Unfortunately, Google still playing mystery with other specifications of this device. There is no word yet on what storage and RAM options will be available when it hits the market. Yes, it was said in passing that it would support the use of a stylus, although this was not specified. Let’s not forget that compatibility with the USI standard is expected. In terms of software, it will ship with Android 13; and the Californians highlighted their work with developers to optimize their apps for tablets.
If you’re wondering when it will be available, there’s bad news too. So far, Google has only confirmed that the Pixel Tablet will arrive in 2023without providing additional information.
