New rumors have emerged that the iPhone 15 will be charged after the law was approved in the European Union (EU), allowing all electronic devices to have USB-C ports by the end of 2024. They suggest the change in installation as early as next year’s release.
Apple is considering replacing the Lighting entry already in its smartphone line by pre-adapting it to the new legislation. But what the company really wants is a wireless future for its gadgets, as is already standard on the Apple Watch (the charger that also works on the new AirPods Pro 2).
For now, the iPhone maker has publicly expressed its disgust at the EU law, which is still under review, last year. It’s a different story behind the scenes, exactly how to get everything in order beforehand.
The new EU law only concerns new devices. Metin is also making sure that laptops are ported by the second quarter of 2026, alongside smaller devices that should charge via USB-C by the end of 2024. Only smart watches are exempted.
When is the iPhone 15 coming?
The next family of Apple mobile phones is expected to be launched in September 2023. The company expects a high volume of consumers to inform employees of one of its UK stores not to take a holiday from September 15 to October 7. December 2 – early January 2024.
