Year 2022 – 29 years after launch Apocalypse on PCs. It should no longer be a surprise when we see the classic game. ID Software it runs in an unexpected place, but it continues to happen. This time the platform notebook from Windows.
The success of the time was the work of a user known as Samperson, who showed the result in a video still at a preliminary stage (Warning for those with photosensitivity: video contains flashing lights).
As you can see, the graphics of the game have been translated into characters, creating a visual that is hard to look at but still fascinating. The version even includes sound – a feature we don’t normally associate with the classic note-taking program.
As Samperson points out in the video description, the video is not sped up and the game actually runs at 60 frames per second. It also ensures that no changes are made to the notepad.exe application.
He stated on Twitter that “it will take some work to turn NotepadDOOM into something that can be released, but it should definitely happen in the next few days.” If you’re curious to test this miraculous creation, it’s worth a look.
It will take some time to turn NotepadDOOM into something releasable, but it will almost certainly happen in the next few days.
