Motorola unveils smartphone with “rollable” screen this Tuesday (18). The concept the company talked about during Lenovo Tech World, can enlarge or reduce the screen size of the user’s hand. Something similar to the LG Rollable, a device that was canceled after the brand left the segment.

Motorola stated at the presentation that flexible OLED displays are starting to attract more attention within the company. As shown, this concept can adjust the screen size – up and then down – from 6.5″ to 4″ after double-clicking a button on the right, and automatically scroll the screen from the bottom area.

On the same right side, in addition to the aluminum frame, it seems possible to notice the volume control buttons. Among other details, there is a possible charging port with more straight lines on the left side and an audio output with an already rounded surface in the upper area.

Motorola device too can dynamically adjust the display size of a content, i.e. the degree of expansion or retraction of the screen. In the demo, a video was shown on YouTube.

Will it hit the market?

It is also worth considering that Motorola’s sliding smartphone is proof of concept, so there is no guarantee that it will actually be offered to the consumer. At the show, it is possible to notice a smartphone with a large thickness, which manufacturers are trying to avoid.

In the case of LG Rollable, for comparison purposes, the device in question can expand to the right. In May, Samsung also introduced a phone concept that expands upwards. manuallyalthough not in an already manufactured product.

TCL also showcased a new smartphone concept with a “floating” screen. The prototype shown has a 10-inch display, but has not been released.
