Introduced in November 2022, Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen protector will make its debut on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. THEM technology promises to be more resistant to drops on harder surfaces like concrete.

The partnership between the two companies was confirmed in an announcement made last Thursday (26). The brand also gave details about the final product.

Gorilla Glass Victus 2 focuses on sustainability as well as providing enhanced protection for Galaxy S23 phones. According to Corning, cover is made of 22% pre-consumer recycled material and is environmentally certified by Underwriters Laboratories.

Therefore, the component is in line with Samsung’s proposal to offer more sustainable devices that combine performance and innovation. The goal of the South Korean company is to create more durable devices using parts with less environmental impact.

According to the manufacturer, protection Gorilla Glass Victus 2 has been subjected to tests that simulate real drops on hard surfaces. Thus, smartphone prototypes survived drops of up to 1 meter in areas that mimic concrete.

“For over a decade, Gorilla Glass has been serving the needs of mobile phone owners by setting the standards for hard facing materials. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Samsung and to see our innovations play a vital role in new Galaxy devices,” said Corning Vice President David Velasquez.
