How to hide your WhatsApp states from certain contacts?

“By default, your status updates are available to all of your contacts,” the instant messaging service says.
To change your privacy here, go to state in the main interface of whatsapp. Later, in Android, click on the three dots located in the upper right corner and then on States Privacy; on iPhone, click on Confidentiality in the top left corner.
