Samsung increases chip trade between companies with a new deal with AMD and keeping GPUs on Exynos processors. However, this does not mean abandoning Qualcomm’s Snapdragon, which should remain on the premium line.

The companies started working together four years ago with AMD Radeon graphics technology on the Exynos 2200, which was released last year. In the announcement regarding the extension of the agreement, Samsung and AMD stated that the new agreement will bring “multiple generations of high-performance, low-power AMD Radeon graphics solutions to an expanded portfolio of Samsung Exynos SoCs.”

SoCs stands for System-on-a-chip and processors are based on ARM architecture for mobile devices. Exynos 2200 offers better sustainable performance. Like this, The expectation with possible future phones is also productivity gains..

Despite the partnership, Qualcomm has not been completely dismissed by the smartphone maker. Last year, The companies have signed a multi-year deal to use Snapdragon chipsets in premium Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S series..

Despite this, there are rumors in the industry that Samsung is working on a special processor for the line that will be released in 2025. If confirmed, there’s a chance it’s an AMD GPU chip.
