According to rumors suggested by the analyst apple Cupertino giant Ming-Chi Kuo trying to implement e-ink imaging technology (EPD) on branded foldable devices and tablets. Even the company can start using color e-ink display on subsequent devices of the brand.

As announced, Apple is considering using electronic paper display (EPD) displays from Chinese company E Ink. The technology is more advanced in terms of energy than any other display type available on the market.

Kuo believes Apple’s EPD displays will be used in mid-sized devices, which could include tablets and the so-called foldable MacBook.

“Apple is testing E Ink’s Electronic Paper Display (EPD) for future foldable device display and tablet-like devices,” the analyst said. “Color EPD has the potential to be a general solution for the second screen. It is mandatory for folding devices, thanks for the excellent energy savings”.

Regarding the use of the color EPD display, Apple may equip this innovation with a new type of tablet. Apple’s first foldable device should launch in mid-2025 and feature a 9-inch foldable display – the device should be between an iPhone and an iPad in size.
