Xiaomi wants its smart bands, also known as Smart Bands, to be more than just wearable devices that we wear on our wrists. They try to achieve this with Xiaomi Smartband 8which will go on sale in April this year along with Xiaomi 13 Ultra and will include a curious novelty: the ability to use the device as a necklace or even a step meter.
While the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 has not been officially announced, the company has already revealed – shall we say – the versatility of the band through various promotional images. Some of them showcase wearables on more premium and elegant straps. Others, however, allow you to see the Smart Band 8 in neck box accessories (like it’s a necklace) or to attach it to your shoes.
This is exactly what we can already do with the current Smart Band. In fact, on portals such as Aliexpress or Amazon, you can find accessories such as pendants or belt clips.
The difference, however, is that Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will offer integrated features to make better use of these accessories.. For example, in the case of a necklace, the bracelet will have a larger clock and voice functions. For the running measurement accessory, Xiaomi may enable a dedicated sports mode.
Accessories aside, everything indicates that Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will have a slightly improved design. Specifically, it will feature a more premium finish with distinctly aluminum bezels. In addition, the company included various mechanisms that facilitate the connection of the box to various accessories.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 may appear next to Xiaomi 13 Ultra
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will be officially announced on April 18, and it can cost around 250 yuan (about 33 euros for an exchange, although it can be more expensive in Spain). Therefore, it will arrive along with Xiaomi 13 Ultra; a smartphone that will bet on a more advanced Leica camera than its little brothers to take on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the rest of the premium mobile phones on the market.
Xiaomi 13 Pro, oddly enough, It can also be supplied with the option of attaching accessories. Of course, unlike the Xiaomi Smart Band 8, Xiaomi smartphone specifications will focus on the use of the camera. One of them, for example, seems to be a bit of a grip to better hold the smartphone.
