Two events will share the main emphasis podium in the sky: Supermoon at the beginning of the month and the Delta Aquarids meteor shower in the last few days. The first of these will occur on the 3rd night when our satellite will be at its closest approach to Earth (perigee) and also in full phase. That night, the Moon will be about 43,000 kilometers closer to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter with about 10% increase in apparent size and about 20% increase in luminosity relative to the phases of frequent floods.

The second event, the Delta Aquarid meteor shower, It is an average rain that can produce 20 meteors per hour at its peak.. It is produced by debris left by the Marsden and Kracht comets and occurs from July 12 to August 23 each year. This year, rain will reach the peak of its activity in the night of the 29th and in the early morning of the 30th.

The moon will be nearly full and will block most of the fainter meteors, but if you’re patient you can catch the brighter ones. The best view of this phenomenon will be from a dark place after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Aquarius, but they can appear anywhere in the sky.
