Volkswagen celebrated the debut of the TV series Obi-Wan Kenobi with two very special editions ofID.Buzz, his new electric van. They will be on display at the Star Wars Celebration, which is currently being held in Anaheim, California.

Two versions: one dedicated to the light side of the power and the other to the dark side. Based on the passenger and commercial versions of the Volkswagen ID.Buzz respectively.

The designers from Lucasfilm and Volkswagen collaborated to create the two vehicles. “We had a lot of fun studying how the Volkswagen brand and the Obi-Wan Kenobi universe could come together,” said Doug Chaing, director of Lucasfilm.

“In this partnership, we bring together two strong global brands and generations of fans who grew up with their respective icons,” said Klaus Zellmer, member of the Volkswagen Board of Management.

The Volkswagen ID.Buzz is inspired by the best-known mini-bud of the German car manufacturer. It is fully electric and will make its debut at Volkswagen dealers around October. The vehicle will be available in two versions, one for consumers and one for businesses, with a van setup to carry goods. A level 4 self-driving version will also be released in the future, the first VW ID.Buzz with robotaxi functions is expected to debut in Germany in 2025.

As for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series made its debut today on Disney +where the first two episodes are already available.
