A Japanese company states that hard drives with a capacity of more than 30 TB will be available sooner than expected.

Show Denko is a Japanese company that is the only company in the world that makes platters on hard drives on which data is stored. According to this company, hard drives with more than 30TB of storage will be available by the end of 2023. By then, the 2.73TB slabs are expected to ship to partners like Toshiba, Western Digital, and Seagate, and then ships. hard drives producing more than 30TB. Therefore, they are expected to be used for near line storage: storage for data centers or storage for small and medium businesses where durability and large amounts of storage space are required.

Showa Denko has now started shipping 2.6TB platters for Western Digital’s new 26TB Ultrastar DC HC670 UltraSMR hard drives. Seagate hasn’t heard much yet, but in any case it will focus on hamr tech.
