Enclosure manufacturer Streacom has announced two new small form factor enclosures: the DA6 and DA6 XL. These are ‘open frame’ enclosures, meaning they have no side panels.

The cabinets are largely composed of a single continuous tube of 19 mm thick stainless steel. A mini-itx motherboard can be mounted on two small pipes in the middle of the case. With the universal brackets, anything can be screwed onto the outer tube: from 140mm fans to radiators for water cooling and from 2.5″/3.5″ drives to the power supply.

It is possible to install an ATX power supply without wasting space for a video card. Video cards can be installed vertically with PCI mounting. For larger GPUs it is better to use the slightly higher DA6 XL (cards up to 358mm long).

There are recesses for I/O modules at the top and bottom of the enclosure. Only a module with a power button and USB-C connection is provided as standard, but Streacom hopes to release more module types.

The DA6 and DA6 XL are expected to be available at the end of July in chrome and black color options. The DA6 will cost 139 euros, and the DA6 XL 149 euros.
