Mayman Aerospace has unveiled a flight-ready prototype of its Speeder vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. Powered by eight small turbojets, the Speeder P2 resembles a flying motorcycle, but is primarily designed as a drone for hauling cargo and other missions.
Initially, the Speeder uses a flight system similar to a drone. He can reach speed 241 km/h and climb 4572 meters, so it’s practically an airplane, but with the difference that the pilot is lying on a motorcycle.
We leave you the promotional video of the brand of its first prototype.
The Speeder Flying Bike can carry a maximum weight of 109kg, so be careful how much weight you put on it. Secondly, allows you to fly from 10 to 22 minutesdepending on the weight of the pilot and the density of the air, so perhaps the battery is another of his weakest points.
This new prototype, now in its third, has several improvements. It is powered by eight jet engines powered by sustainable jet fuel, so its carbon emissions are zero.
Also, when it comes to safety, it has a system that gives the pilot perfect handling, so its use is very simple (it’s as easy as get up and press the start button).
“maiman aerospace pushes the boundaries of VTOL flight and will continue to innovate and introduce new technologies, including hydrogen turbine engines, electric fan and turbofan engines, and possibly even supersonic flight.”explains its CEO.
Also note that, as we saw in the video, it is originally intended for piloting, but the likelihood that it autonomous or remotely controlled flights.
As for its use, despite being designed for defense, it will also be an excellent ally for firefighting, being able to transport water tanks (although its carrying capacity should be increased) or for medical evacuation in case of an emergency.
Its load capacity is expected to increase significantly to 450kg as they appreciate the additional use for industrial loads.
