The Nothing Phone (1) finally has a presentation date. The appointment is for Tuesday 12 July, at 17:00 Italian. The event will be held in London, but it is possible to Nothing (Event): Back to Instinct also online.
It is the first smartphone of the new company of Carl Peicwho had already launched a series of relatively successful TWS headphones last year: in a few months the Ear (1) had sold more than 400,000 units.
Carl Pei will present the event. The new smartphone is also made with the collaboration of Qualcomm, which provides the processor. Not only that: the company wants to stand out with a design that is recognizable and different from any solutions proposed by the competition (“indistinguishable and monotonous, Pei said in a recent interview”). Speaking of which, we know that Nothing Phone (1) is a transparent back shell, with the components in view. An important and unique work has been done, precisely in the area of the aesthetics of the components.
The price will probably run around 500 euros, but this should of course be taken with a grain of salt. Still within the rumor to be taken with caution, a possible data sheet circulated online a few weeks ago. A mid-range profile with a 6.43 inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The SoC should be one Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. We then find a 4,500 mAh battery with support for wireless charging. We don’t know the technology and charging speed. The camera has a 50MP main sensor, flanked by 8MP ultra-wide angle, 2MP macro and 32MP selfie camera.
But will it be true? See you on July 12 to find out.
