iRobot has informed us that the new Roomba i5 and i5+ robot vacuums are now available in the Netherlands. Both home assistants should offer new customization options and functions with Imprint Smart Mapping and retail for €449 and €699 respectively.

Imprint Smart Mapping lets you create a customizable smart map that lets vacuum cleaners specifically clean rooms you specify via the iRobot Home app or your favorite voice assistant. You should now also be able to see estimated cleaning times and create cleaning routines (room) based on your preferred schedules.

iRobot claims you can safely overlook the i5+ vacuum cleaner, specifically the Clean-Based Automatic Dirt Cleaner should allow the robot vacuum to empty itself into an AllergenLock bag. According to the manufacturer, this should capture 99% of pollen and mold and need not be emptied for up to 60 days.

The Roomba i5 and i5+ also feature iRobot’s latest home intelligence software, so you should have access to smart map, voice and app functions. These features include Child & Pet Lock, Do Not Disturb, and Room-Specific Cleaning Preferences. In terms of voice control, Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri are supported.
