Everything seems to indicate that negotiations between Valencia and Tesla to create a second giant factory in Europe are still going according to plan. On June 8, 2023, it became known that the company had signed a letter of intent with the Valencian government, but after information was leaked, the American multinational corporation allegedly decided to back down.
It was revealed today that Tesla’s future Gigafactory in Valencia is closer than ever to becoming a reality as land in the area has been expropriated.
But in addition, the Generalitat suppressed public disclosure of the large investment to ensure the confidentiality that Tesla demands in the negotiations. In short, all these moves are being made to help the Elon Musk-led company lean towards Valencia as France, Italy and the UK also fight to stay in the project.
These are the lands that Valencia has reserved for the Tesla Gigafactory.
Hypertext had exclusive access to information showing which lands the Valencian Generalitat has reserved for a future Tesla Gigafactory.
They will be located on one side of an industrial park in front of the Cheste motorway, with the A3 intersection on one side and all the amenities that a real industrial area would have.
At this point, none of this is a guarantee or confirmation of Tesla’s arrival in Valencia, but it is another positive step. In the coming months, the company will continue negotiations with all possible locations for its future Gigafactory and will ultimately choose the country that offers the best conditions.
