Ford continues to bet on the electrification of its vehicle catalog and today launched a new Puma Gen-E. As the name suggests, this is a new version inspired by both the crossover SUV of the same name released in 2019 and the legendary coupe of the late 90s and early 2000s.

The Ford Puma Gen-E is a compact crossover with which the oval brand intends to gain a larger position in the electric vehicle market in Europe. The choice of Puma to convert it to electric is not accidental, since, according to the manufacturer, it is its best-selling car on the Old Continent. Additionally, as part of this strategy, the brand is doubling down on its commitment to paying homage to older models, as we already saw this year with the Ford Capri.

The design of the new Ford Puma Gen-E shares many of the design cues with the crossover SUV that debuted about 5 years ago, and retains the characteristics that made the original Puma coupe unique. The latter is especially appreciated in the headlight format, which gives the car its individuality.

In terms of dimensions, the Ford Puma Gen-E measures Length 4.21 meters, width 1.80 meters, height 1.55 meters.. Regardless of the variant, the Ford Puma Gen-E accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 8 seconds and its maximum speed is 160 km/h. It’s certainly not the most powerful or fastest electric car, but it’s enough for the type of vehicle and the segment it’s aimed at.
