The first lift-off of Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket has been postponed this Monday (13). The first demonstration of the vehicle is planned for today at 3 am (Brasília time).

“We are abandoning today’s launch attempt to resolve an issue with the vehicle’s subsystem that would take us beyond our launch window,” Blue Origin executive Ariane Cornell said during the livestream.

The space company is now evaluating next opportunities for a new launch attempt.

Again, in the statement published on X, no detailed information was given about the problem in New Glenn.

Postponement has happened before

The first attempt to launch New Glenn took place on Friday (10). However, the event was postponed due to the rough seas in the Atlantic Ocean region where the first stage of the vehicle would land.

The launch was later postponed for 72 hours to this Monday (13). The window of opportunity for the launch lasted until Thursday (16).

New Glenn has been in development for almost a decade and is the first orbital rocket from Blue Origin, a company founded by Jeff Bezos.
