No evidence has been found so far, but that doesn’t mean the hypothesis is no longer disputed. It was considered interesting as it would help search for signs of advanced civilizations on outer planets. The authors’ suggestion is that humans have left significant traces on the planet, altering the planet’s climate and ecosystems that will surely last for many years into our time. However, this does not mean that they can be detected millions of years later.

But the longer a civilization lasts, the more sustainable its practices must be in order to survive.
