Amazon opens the dance. Today and tomorrow, July 12 and 13, e-commerce hosts i Prime Day 2022 Two days of unmissable discounts to get your hands on electronic products, for the home and also on video games and clothing at a bargain price.
But – forgive the banal expression – not all that glitters is always gold. It can therefore happen that behind an apparently useful offer there is only one sound. Fortunately, there are some tricks and as many tools to bring the real convenience of aoffered on Amazon
Let’s take an example. Find a beautiful OLED TV with a 60% discount!. 899 euros less than the original price. You’ve already put it in your cart, but is it really a good idea? What do those 899 euros less refer to? At the list price when the product was first launched two years ago, or at the price the TV had until yesterday, and thus before Prime Day 2022?
Here it is then discovered that the TV has always been at a strong ‘discount’ in recent months, and that compared to the price normally offered by the platform, the discount is just over 200 euros. Are you still sure of your purchase, or would you rather look around looking for even more tasty offers? There is of course no right answer, the only thing that is important is that you as a consumer make well-considered choices, armed with all the information you need.
There are two very useful tools. The first is called CamelCamelCamel (you can find it here) and it’s a real price bible on Amazon. Constantly monitor each product, report and record any price fluctuations. Among other things, the site also reveals the lowest price ever reached on Amazon.it by the item you are looking for. A great way to avoid fake discounts and understand what it’s really worth.
Then there is Keena (here), which does more or less the same and illustrates price fluctuations with an easy-to-follow chart. Not only that: the portal also shows you the best prices of the product you are looking for on other portals, such as eBay. Both services can be integrated into the browser through the official extensions for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Happy careless purchases!
