New information about the iPhone 16 series planned for 2024 continues to circulate on the Internet. The latest rumor shows that The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be larger than previous generations and therefore need to have a new screen ratio.

Analyst Ross Young shared the details of the “iPhone Display Roadmap” in a subscriber-only tweet. The document presents data on the screens of Apple’s upcoming devices, including the upcoming iPhone 16 and 17 series.

Reinforcing the old information, Young suggests that the basic variants of the iPhone 16 should have 6.27-inch panels. In this respect Pro and Pro Max models can use screens up to 6.86 inches.

Later, Apple’s premium devices should have screens with the new 19.6:9 aspect ratio.. According to the documents, all models of previous generations, including the future iPhone 15, adopt the 19.5:9 screen ratio.

In simple terms, future Pro and Pro Max variants could have a longer, narrower bezel. A change that may seem minimal given the numbers, but offers more usable space for interaction.

Earlier, Young had said that the slight increase in screen would allow new camera sets to be added to the iPhone. In this way, it is possible to assume that Apple will also change the aspect ratio of the screen.

Other iPhone Display Roadmap details

The document also brings the possible details of the iPhone 17.

The document also suggests: Basic versions of iPhone 16 will be different from iPhone 15. For example, the 6.12-inch (Standard) and 6.69-inch (Plus) displays will have a pill-shaped cutout as seen on the current iPhone 14 Pro.

In this respect Pro variants of the iPhone 17 generation may bring the Face ID sensor under the screen and a hole for the front camera only.. Standard versions can have screens that support ProMotion technology.
