The world’s population continues to grow, and life expectancy is constantly increasing. With such a sum of factors, spending on health is a waste of money for everyone: citizens and the state.

And there is someone who has all our information: how far we walk, what is our pulse rate, how many hours we sleep, how much oxygen is in our blood… Exactly, your trusted technology company.

Companies like Apple, Google, Xiaomi and others know that our health is almost better than that of our family doctor. Therefore, it is logical that they want to go into business. Amazon is late, but it’s here.

When Amazon launched Amazon Care for its employees in 2019, the goal was to test the product before rolling it out nationally. After this rollout happened earlier this year, the Amazon CEO said the app will be a game-changer in healthcare.

And he predicted that patients of the future will be so accustomed to telemedicine and other new conveniences. that they would think things like the long wait times and delays between in-person visits seen today are really “crazy”.

Now, according to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon has taken that future one step further by agreeing to buy One Medical. a company that operates a $3.9 billion network of health clinics.

With this move Amazon will expand the number of patients served by gaining access to more than 180 medical offices in 25 US markets. and works with over 8,000 companies to ensure employee health, including in-person and virtual care.

However, it was not a complete success story. Nearly 500 million of Amazon’s investment in One Medical is intended to pay off the company’s debt.

One Medical also recently came under fire in 2021 during a Congressional investigation into how it administered COVID-19 vaccines when they first became available in December 2020. Otherwise, the future has already arrived.
