Gene architect of the body, made in the laboratory

They are called Hox genes and were first obtained in laboratory. The other, more famous name is geniuses architect, they allow to follow the development of the body in animals. This is how their creation took place. The Synthetic DNA obtained is copied from a Rat and inserted after in endurance cells from mice. The aim is to understand how these important and at the same time difficult to study genes work. The study is thanks to New York University, which opens the door to future research into human evolution.

In the middle of the body’s development, the Hox genes determine the direction of each cell. In addition, also which part of the organism they will form, so that the development of organs and tissues comes to the right place. if there is one mutation and these genes have a malfunction, then the cells tend to be lost. All of this can cause cancers, birth defects, and miscarriages. There is still much to understand about architectural geniuses. In DNA, they occur in specific groups, where other genes cannot take place. Therefore, it is difficult to examine them.

To solve that problem, the researchers produced long strands of synthetic DNA from Hox genes. This can be done by copying those from rats and placing them in a precise position in the stem cells of mice. By testing on two different species, it was possible to easily distinguish the synthetic DNA from the rest in the lab. So it turned out that the group of Hox genes contains all the useful information to let the cells know where to go. All without other self-regulation tools.
