Researchers from Dr.Web, the company responsible for the antivirus of the same name, have launched a new round of malicious applications distributed through the Official Google Play Store. Although the apps were used to distribute nasty malware, they still managed to pass the market’s security checks.
This time, the numbers of the applications concerned are surprising – and worrying -. In total, they have reached more than 10 million users. The most famous was downloaded more than 1 million times. And yes, among the many negative reviews, there were also several users who guessed and reported the malicious nature of the application.
Following Dr.Web’s report, the affected applications – the full list of which can be found below – were immediately removed from the Play Store.
