You’ve probably heard that massage has many health benefits. For example, it helps to reduce muscle pain, get rid of muscle knots, remove harmful substances from the body, strengthen the immune system, reduce the effects of stress, and prevent the development of depression.

Many of the above statements are scientifically supported. For this reason, it is known that massage reduces the severity of pain, reduces muscle tension, lowers heart rate and pressure, and also relieves the symptoms of fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and anxiety.

According to a study conducted in 2008, massage helps muscles recover faster after exercise. During this study, it turned out that four days after a massage, a person had improved 60 percent of their muscle strength and 14 percent if they just rested. There was also less inflammation and damaged fibers in the massaged muscles.

Experts from McMaster University in Ontario (Canada) discovered that after sports training massage contributes to the development of the structures responsible for energy production – mitochondria. Also, in this case, the number of inflammatory proteins is reduced.
