Spotify has created a new platform dedicated to the sale of tickets. The project was launched without major claims. Through Spotify tickets users can buy concert tickets for their favorite artists.
For now, it’s just a test. The site offers the possibility to tickets from a very limited number of concerts: we find the latest events from Limbeck, Annie DiRusso, Dirty Honey, Crows, TOKiMONSTA, Four Year Strong and Osees. The plan is to gradually expand the number of artists and bands available.
Spotify aims to become an increasingly complete hub for music. One place to listen to the songs of the artists, but also to buy tickets for their concerts and their merchandising. In the US, Spotify Tickets has already opened its doors.
We remember that Spotify already had a section called Live Events Feed, with a kind of calendar of upcoming concerts from the main artists. Directly from that section, users can access the Ticketmaster, AXS, DICE, Eventbrite, and See Tickets sites and purchase tickets.
The difference is that at Spotify Tickets it is the same platform as sell tickets to users, with a commission charged on the price of each ticket. Spotify Tickets has an anti-scalping policy: tickets purchased through the new platform cannot be transferred or resold to third parties.
