Lorenzo Ciocea positively surprised with his Daje de Alberic in front of Reforest Rome. The municipality should do it and instead invite all European countries to join a real community and carry on. Since the 1960s, 60% of the forests have been lost. In Italy, as in other countries, there are many projects for planting new trees. First Milan with the BagnaMI initiative, and when we move to Rome, from 2021 we find the initiative of Lorenzo Cioce with his Daje de Alberi. A way to raise awareness among citizens to make Rome an increasingly green capital. A project of reforestation and urban rebirth with the union of citizens and institutions.

Everything was born in 2019 in an amateur way to plant trees under the house, because the square where I lived in Rome’s Nomentano neighborhood was bare. Public and private must work together and must learn to do so more and more. This thing abroad is normal. There are realities that have always collaborated with congregations like us. The aim is to increase and defend the heritage. Our actions are not critical, but we try to be proactive and act to create something that then stays with the city. We assume that once you decide to adopt a tree, you will continue with the commitment and not leave the project to itself. I really care about the sense of community we create among the citizens.

In 2021 the experiment will be successful and the association Daje de Alberi will be founded with a crowdfunding. For reforestation you need permission from the municipality, otherwise it is punishable. Then the first funds came and from February 2022, Alberi was born in Rome. The aim of the project is to plant trees in needy spaces or to build new ones flower beds. No fewer than 150 new trees breathe new life into Rome.

People should not take the place of institutions. There is a great need for investment in these types of gardens and projects. The right tree comes to the right place with respect for the environment and the biodiversitybut also with respect for people with allergies.
